I just wanted to write and thank you once again for your generous
support of the 2003 North Face Indian Garhwal Expedition. Kevin Thaw
and I were in India from September 3rd to October 20th. We attempted to make
the
first ascent of the 7000-foot east face of Kedar Dome (22,411 ft.).
We made two attempts, both in pure alpine style, reaching a highpoint of 19,000
feet,
about halfway up the route. Carrying everything we needed for survival
on our backs, it was extremely important that we pare down our equipment
and food to the bare essentials.
I thought you would be happy to know that the bare essentials
included Bear Naked® Granola. After carefully weighing our
options, we realized that Bear Naked® is, pound for pound,
just about the best fuel you could possibly put into your body.
We ate it
for breakfast, lunch
and dinner,
both on the wall and also in base camp. We found that
it provided us with sustained slow burn energy — just exactly
what we needed. I have included some photos from the expedition.
Thanks a lot for the new shipment which arrived the other day.
As I mentioned before, it’s not just me, but my wife and
two kids who are also hooked.
Best Regards,
-Mark Synnott,
