BEAR NAKED TAKES ITS TRIPLE CROWN CHALLENGE TO VAIL, COLO.

Participants to be Rewarded with All-Natural and Organic Trail Mixes at the 2008 Teva Mountain Games
LA JOLLA, Calif., (June 2, 2008) – In alliance with the company’s mission to support active lifestyles and environmental education, Bear Naked, the all-natural food and lifestyle company, will be a sponsor of the 2008 Teva Mountain Games, June 5-8, in Vail, Colo. During the games, Bear Naked will host its Triple Crown Challenge, which offers participants Trail Mix samples as they complete exciting adventures, such as rock climbing, mountain biking, and orienteering, while educating event attendees on its Triple Crown Project, a national effort to conserve, build, and maintain America’s three great long distance hiking trails.

“We’re excited to be part of the Teva Mountain Games because it’s an event that provides people with an opportunity to enjoy the mountain lifestyle and the adventurous sports they inspire,” says Ryan Therriault, senior manager, brand marketing and innovation. “With the ‘Triple Crown Challenge,’ we are providing everyone, from families and weekend warriors to professional athletes, an interactive experience that combines our passion for great-tasting, all-natural foods with fun and challenging outdoor sports. Simultaneously, we’re encouraging the preservation of some of our country’s greatest outdoor assets.”

Bear Naked’s Trail Mixes represent the three classic long-distance hiking trails in the lower 48 states: the Appalachian Trail, the Continental Divide and the Pacific Crest Trail. Together, these three trails comprise the Triple Crown of Hiking. As part of its Triple Crown Project, Bear Naked has partnered with and donated funds to the three organizations dedicated to preserving these trails.

The Teva Mountain Games is the country’s largest gathering of mountain sports where professional and amateur outdoor adventure athletes converge upon the mountains and rivers of Vail to compete in various events. Any of the expected 35,000 attendees that visit the Bear Naked booth at the Games will receive a Triple Crown Challenge Passport that will be used to track activities. In exchange for participating in each activity, consumers will earn delicious and nutritious Bear Naked Trail Mix and Granola samples as well as “stamps” in their passport. The first 1000 visitors to redeem their passport at the Bear Naked booth, have the chance to grab complimentary prizes including a reusable Bear Naked grocery bag, Nathan Flip Straw Water Bottle, all-natural and organic Bear Naked Trail Mix, and more.

“Bear Naked’s involvement with the Teva Mountain Games embodies our ongoing commitment to foster good health through a balanced diet of good-for-you foods and an active lifestyle,” says Therriault. “This is what Bear Naked is all about – inspiring people to enjoy the outdoors, and add a little adventure and a lot of fun to their day.”
