No need to worry, our Product has not changed. It is
still the same great tasting product that you know and
love. We have however evolved our packaging to a new
look that we hope you will love as much as we do. As
we continue to introduce new products to the Bear Naked® family, we
want
you to
look down your grocer's aisle and easily spot THE
CLAW.
I noticed the nutritional value of Peak Protein has changed. Can you please explain?
Based on all the customer feedback we received, we decided to improve the formula slightly. Many customers found the peak protein product a bit too dry. So, we listened to our loyal fans.
While we absolutely value the nutritional benefits of soy protein, in order to improve the taste and texture, we made some slight modifications. We're thrilled with the improved product and we certainly hope you agree with us from a taste perspective. Bear in mind, every serving of Peak Protein provides 5 grams of protein to ensure you're at your Peak performance. As always, the principle sources of protein include: whole soy flakes, soy protein isolate, and sunflower seeds.
Why the name Bear Naked®?
Our company name, Bear Naked®, reflects our passion and dedication to using ingredients that are all-natural and “bearly” processed.

What is the manufacturing code, and how do I read it?
We are currently changing to an easier to interpret
"Best By" date coding.
The manufacturing code is currently found on the bottom
of the pouch and it identifies the date the product
was made.
It looks like this: 05038B
- The first two numbers represents the year it
was made. For instance, the 05 in our example code
means it
was made in 2005. 04 would mean it was made in
2004.
- The next three numbers represent the day of the
year the product was made. In our example, the 038
(or thirty
eighth day) is February 7.
- The letter is a plant code, which has nothing
to do with the date.
What is the expiration date of your product?
Our product has a shelf life of one year from the date produced. You will find this date on the bottom of our larger bags and on the top of the individual 1.35 oz snack packs
How long will the granola stay fresh once opened?
Bear Naked® will stay fresh for one year from the day it is produced, provided it is properly stored in a cool, dry place and tightly sealed.
Why is your product priced
at a premium level?
Our product is priced at a premium level, because we source the best-tasting, highest quality ingredients we can find. For example, we use whole almonds and walnut halves, not almond and walnut pieces. In addition, our granola is still made by hand, which is labor intensive.
Are your packages recyclable?
Much thought was put into the packaging of Bear Naked products. While recyclable packaging certainly would be an added bonus to a great all-natural product, it is important that we use materials to maintain its freshness and quality. The best way to preserve our products, which do not use food preservatives, is to use two different plastics in our packaging. Since the two films used are different, they can’t be recycled. However, we are looking into more environmentally-friendly options and will hopefully be able to provide you with a recyclable package in the near future.

Why the name change from High Protein to Peak Protein?
Rest
assured, the product in the bag is the same. We simply
changed the name to reflect the active lifestyle
we encourage. Peak Protein for peak performance.
Why is Apple Spice no longer available?
We
are sorry to disappoint you by discontinuing this
Bear Naked® flavor. Please keep in mind that when a flavor
is changed, it is not done impulsively, but by
taking into account many factors, which include consumer
feedback
and purchasing patterns throughout the country.
The feedback we receive from you as well as all our customers
is taken very seriously and will help us as we plan and
develop new flavor profiles.
Is Bear Naked® kosher?
Bear Naked® is proud to carry the
well recognized circle K kosher certification. All raw
materials are kosher
and our facilities are regularly audited as well.
Why doesn't my store carry all the Bear Naked® flavors?
Unfortunately, shelf space is limited. However, if there's a particular flavor that your store doesn't carry, don't hesitate to ask the store manager if he/she can order it for you. Most stores are happy to accommodate their loyal customers.
A few other options: visit a local independent retailer or gourmet shop. Smaller stores are often willing to special order items. You can also check out our online store.
Can Bear Naked ship to P.O. Boxes?
Unfortunately, we cannot ship to P.O. boxes due to the fact that we use UPS for our deliveries.
Can Bear Naked ship internationally?
As of June 2007, our products are available in Canada through a Canadian distributor. Our plans are to spread to other countries from there, so hopefully Bear Naked will be available in your country soon!
Can Bear Naked ship to military addresses?
Yes. Please fill out the online mailing form as you would for a standard mailing address and your order will be processed accordingly.

Are any of your products nut-free?
The following Bear Naked products are nut-free: Peak Protein Original granola, Heavenly Chocolate granola; Triple Berry Crunch Fit granola, 100% Organic Rolled Oats and 100% Organic Medley. Bear Naked products are, however, packaged in a facility that processes wheat, soy, dairy, tree nuts and peanuts and, therefore, we cannot guarantee that cross contamination won’t occur. With this in mind, please use your own judgment as to whether it is safe for you to consume our nut-free products, as you know best your level of allergen sensitivity.
Is Bear Naked® gluten-free?
Based on numerous studies
in the last several years, research shows that oats
do not appear to be harmful
to persons
with gluten intolerance. The offending cereals that
must be avoided are wheat, rye, barley and their derivative
cereals.
Bear Naked® Fruit & Nut is gluten- and wheat-free.
However, Bear Naked® Peak Protein, Bear Naked® Banana
Nut and Bear Naked® Apple Cinnamon contain crisp rice, which is made
from rice and barley malt. Since barley contains gluten,
these products are not gluten-free.
Is Bear Naked® casein-free?
Bear Naked® is dairy-free and, therefore, casein-free. However, because our products are packaged in facility that processes dairy, we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination won’t occur.
Do Bear Naked products contain MSG?
MSG is a preservative. Bear Naked products are all natural and, by definition, all natural products cannot contain preservatives. As a result, we do not use any artificial ingredients or preservatives, including MSG.
Are your products GMO free?
Yes, all ingredients in Bear Naked products are GMO free.
Can you make fat-free granola?
We could make a fat-free
granola. However, Bear Naked® was created with
the belief that food should be wholesome,
all-natural, nutritious and great-tasting. In selecting
ingredients, we did extensive research and determined
that canola oil and nuts were smart fat choices.
Realizing that everyone's diet needs are unique,
we emphasize a healthy, active lifestyle, believing
that if consumed in moderation with appropriate portion
size and combined with regular physical activity,
all foods
can fit into a healthful diet. We hope Bear Naked® can
fuel your lifestyle.
Do you have a sugar-free granola?
Bear Naked® is naturally sweetened with just a kiss
of honey. We selected to use honey in our recipe
because studies
show it is low on the glycemic index, providing
a long, steady source of energy instead of a spike
and crash.
Honey is also a natural source of antioxidants.
I am concerned about calories and fat content.
The
Bear Naked® philosophy is that if consumed in
moderation, with appropriate portion size and combined
with an
active lifestyle, all foods can fit into a healthy

Does Bear Naked produce organic products or use organic ingredients?
We have explored the possibility of using organic ingredients in all of our products. At this time, it is prohibitively expensive to use organic ingredients in all of our granola products. We absolutely value organic ingredients, but we also want to make sure our products are accessible to the many consumers who purchase them for their all-natural profile and premium quality that they have come to expect.

Why should I save my empty bags?
Our packaging suggests you save your empty bags because Bear Naked offers a free t-shirt when you send in your bags or UPC codes. Do I need a special code to receive Den Member discounts?
You do not need a special promotion code to receive den member discounts. To receive den member discounts, you must go through the registration process to become a den member. Once you have done that you automatically receive the discount every time you make an online purchase. If you fill out the extended registration form, you will receive 10% off your first order and 5% on all subsequent orders. If you fill out the regular registration form, you will receive 5% off your first and all subsequent orders.
