Although racing for the season is far from over, the NORBA National Championship Series has come to an end with the finals in Aspen/Snowmass, CO. The Bear Naked/Cannondale team headed into the finals 2nd in the point standings and the racing throughout the weekend was flooded in orange.
Snowmass Village was branded Bear Naked with 10 team members racing, breakfast in the village and volunteers, spectators and racers getting Bear Naked throughout the weekend.
The podium was witness to two Bear Naked/Cannondale riders with Justin Rhinehart taking a 2nd place in Semi-Pro Men’s Short track and Leanna Gerrard placing 3rd in Pro Women’s Mountain Cross.
Although the Nationals are over for 2006 season our team of 43 riders will continue to race on the regional and local level. Be on the lookout for a stellar all female Bear Naked/Cannondale team competing at the 24 hours of Moab in October.
The first year of the Bear Naked/Cannondale Mountain Bike Race Team has been a huge success and we hope it has motivated those that already ride bikes to push their personal limits and, more importantly, inspired those who don’t to get involved in this fun sport as a way to further fuel your healthy, active lifestyle.
Live Well,
