This nationwide series was a great Bear Naked experience.  The ladies took the head start while the men had to wait a couple minutes to start their race; hence, SkirtChasers.  If anything, fellow guys, it seems like the ladies named the event FOR us.  We found some awesome Bear Naked fans who swore their stomachs to us.  We sampled to about 800 of our fans.  Thank you for taking a nibble at our parfaits Skirt-wearers and Skirt-chasers.

The National Western Complex in Denver held this year’s most exciting bicycle show. We got to see some of the finest custom frame-builders, production bike manufacturers, components & accessory companies.  I couldn’t believe the imagination and pure inventiveness of these bikes’ creators: some big wheelies, recumbents, traditionals, and the hand-crafted.  Absolutely amazing what these guys can do with their hands and a box set of tools.

As far as parfaits were concerned, my guess is that we sampled to 75% of the crowd this past weekend.  And if anything, we gave out a reusable bag to each family.  I also found a little friend this weekend who I have seen at past events.  He had told me he had made a Bear Naked poster out of all the stickers and leftover bags he and his family had consumed.  He said he couldn’t even imagine a day without his Bear Naked breakfast.  He imagined it would be something along the lines of what the Mayans had proposed in the year 2012.  Don’t worry, little man, I feel the same way.

Raisin Hope Foundation Classic

Saul Raisin, at age 23, crashed on his road bicycle and undertook a traumatic brain injury that was lead by a coma and serious bodily injury.  To everybody’s amazement, this guy bounced back after some serious rehab treatment and decided to raise awareness for those individuals who have disabilities as a result of traumatic brain injuries.  Mr. Raisin wrote a book and is currently racing again.  This race that got great feedback from all it’s riders.  Raisin was great and so were all the spectators and riders that stopped by our booth to try our Bear Naked granola.

After many families brought their used Bear Naked bags for the Terracycle program, those who did got a free Bear Naked shirt.  We were happy to give out 8+ shirts that evening.  The classic green grass and the Boulder blue sky was given the additional Bear Naked neon orange that day.

And even as the swim got cut a little early due to thunderstorms, I was aided by Mr. Charlie to give out the last quarter of sampling.  Seriously, Boulder people love Bear Naked.  Saw one guy attempt to eat our compostable spoons (made of cornstarch).  I think he ended up digesting only a fraction of the spoon; I ended up giving that a guy a bag just for the sake of choosing quality functional food groups.  I did a world a favor that day :)

Evergreen Town Race

Held at the scenic Evergreen Lake, the Bear Naked team was given the opportunity to treat participants and supporters to our bomb granola parfaits.  The post-race snack was certainly a delight to the many finishers of the race.  We were attacked by great personalities and fun-loving characters of all walks.  From children to 90+ year old racers.  We were humbled to serve them all.  We hope everyone, including the volunteers and organizers enjoyed the Bear Naked parfaits.  If smiles are good news, then we did a good job.

Met, yet again, some die hard Bear Naked fans.  Seems like CO is the perfect place for granola geeks to gather to get their Bear Naked on.  We were glad/sad to have Whole Foods completely sell out of their stock of granola during our sampling.  RAD sampling + hungry Coloradans = Woo woo!

We were delighted to have a couple winners draw some of our “Winner” spoons for a free bag of granola.  Those that did were ecstatic and somewhat baffled that they got a free 12 oz. granola to take home to share with their friends and family.  Bear Naked is in the granola, cereal, cereal bars, and smile business this summer.  Watch out!

As we were sampling some granola parfaits, we got to enjoy watching a couple of young guns put down cupfulls of our flavors. Everytime, without fail, we would see a yogurt-slopped face cashing in at the register.  We could point out which child had our Heavenly Chocolate from 50 feet away.  ;)
