In lieu of sitting in gridlock, wasting precious natural resources, and inhaling carcinogenic fumes, nearly 400 participants were burning calories while building awareness for Puget Sound Blood Center’s Bone Marrow Registry. Divided into teams of five consisting of four swimmers and one kyacker they battled choppy waves and morning hunger on the 2.5 mile course from Medina to Madison beach.
Upon reaching the westerly shores the athletes were greeted by family, friends, and delicious Bear Naked Treats.

We had a packed weekend with the Denver Oyster Urban Adventure Race on Saturday and the Outdoor Divas Tri on Sunday.
The D.O.U.A.R. was an all day event in which teams of 6 raced around Denver trying to find clues and complete challenges. We were happy to be in the transition area to keep all those racers fueled with our yogurt and granola parfaits!
The divas in the Outdoor Divas Tri kicked some booty! They loved our granola and were very excited about our bright orange grocery bags!

This past weekend the Denver team was busy busy busy! We went to the beautiful Leadville, CO and attended the two-day Rocky Mountain Bicycle festival. There were bike shops from all over the country showcasing their most unique and sought-after bikes! Some of our favorites were tandem mountain bikes, Black Sheep’s 36 inch wheel bike, and Panda’s bamboo bikes! It’s always fun to be around people who love the outdoors as much as we do!
After returning to the Denver area, we went straight to the Muddy Buddy race in Boulder. There were people dressed in all kinds of costumes from dirty school girls, to wrestlers, to jail birds, to the cast from The Wizard of Oz! After the costume contest, everyone geared up for a bike ride and run followed by crawling through the infamous mud pit! Bear Naked was one of the favorites according to all those muddy buddies!
Another great weekend for the Denver Bear Naked team!

The police women of Leadville loved our yogurt and granola parfaits!

It’s summer, get outside and enjoy what nature has to offer! That’s exactly what the runners of Race Thru the Redwoods did this past Sunday in Felton, CA. It was a beautiful Sunday morning for this 10K through these majestic monsters and all the runners throughly enjoyed the race.
After spreading Bear Naked love to the racers, the SF crew went on there own hike to see these amazing trees up close. There is a tree called the Fremont tree that is slightly hollow on the inside which allows adventures to enter the tree’s trunk. Our whole team easily entered and was able to stand up in this giant. These Redwoods were an amazing sight, get out there and check them out for youself!

This past Saturday we headed out to the Presidio for The Great Urban Race where Halloween came early this year. Many couples and families dressed up for this urban adventure race that had them solve 12 clues, take pictures, and complete wacky tasks to beat their competition. The teams traveled from location to location throughout San Francisco but could only use public transportation or their own two legs. After cracking all the codes and racing to the finish line, teams happily refueled on our granola.
I highly recommend competing in one of these races, everyone seemed to have a blast! Be sure to pack some Bear Naked granola with you and you will for sure come out a winner.

On a sweltering Saturday afternoon 4000 women crammed into the gullies of the Pacific Northwest Ballet to pick up their registration packets for the 21st annual Danskin Triathalon. Between standing in line for their bibs, and listening to experts speak about preparing for the race, nearly all of these lovely ladies enjoyed what one called healthy fast food.
The Bear Naked crew was predominately displayed in the middle of the room – the only vendor to be given tent privileges – we were a bright orange beacon in a sea of small tables and things you had to pay for. Like moths to a flame women swarmed our tables to enjoy fresh parfaits, tasty grain-ola bar samples, and endured waiting inline to sign up for the Den to receive a limited-edition reuseable grocery bag for doing so.

This past weekend we headed out to the Boardwalk for the Santa Cruz International Triathlon. Men, women, and kids of all ages cruised through surf city to find us at the Finish Line. When all finished, the California Sun finally came out and the athletes gladly devoured our granola.
