Bumbershoot Recap Seattle, WA

Bear Naked Tour is coming close to an end, and we were very lucky to have one of our last events be Bumbershoot in Seattle.

Not a bad day at the office right?

For those of you who don’t know what Bumbershoot is, it is a yearly 3 day Music and Arts festival that takes over Seattle and the surrounding area around the Space Needle. Bear Naked was there giving people the energy to enjoy there long weekend in sunny Seattle. Bumbershoot is by far a great event and one that anyone living near Seattle should check out at least once, especially if you like seeing local musicians and artist.

That does it for this week! Next week we will be attending our last Warrior Dash of the 2011 tour in Oregon.

Half way through remarks and Rock ‘n’ Roll 1/2 Marathon Chicago, IL

The Bear Naked Summer Tour is a little over half way through, can you believe it? we have been to so many cool events and have meet so many great people along our trip across the country and have had some passionate Brand Ambassadors help us at each event.. i want to Thank everyone so far that has help make the first half of the tour fun and entertaining, it’s going to be fun to see how the second leg of the tour will be, one thing i do know is it will be hard to top the first half.

The Rain

Enough about that, we actually have an event that just passed, Bear Naked just finished up the Chicago Rock ‘n’ Roll 1/2 Marathon and Expo.

We again sampled and gave out photos to the 13,000 attendees and runners making sure everyone had the energy pre and post Race they needed to run the Marathon!

Guess what happend on race day? ill give you a hint…

Just Kidding….. It Actually did not rain other then a sprinkle here and there.. despite it looking like the end of the world was upon us.. it passed right by us.

That puts an end to once again another great event, next stop Copper Mountain in Denver, CO for Warrior Dash… going to start preparing for the altitude. See you there! – Jon

Rock ‘n’ Roll 1/2 Marathon Providence, RI

The Bear Naked Granola Summer tour came to Providence RI for 3 days for the Rock ‘n’ Roll expo and 1/2 marathon.

We had a booth giving out Granola to the 9000 runners and attendees at the expo helping them get ready for the race. we also had a Green screen booth giving people the opportunity to take some crazy pictures to show to there friends and family.

On race day we were once again welcomed by lovely mother nature ( no i am not joking) we got soaked, but no nor’ester type of weather could stop the die hard marathon runners from accomplishing what they have been training for.

To finish and put an end to Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Providence finishers were welcomed to a free concert headlined by Sugar Ray.

Quick Stop at Target HQ

We decided what better way to celebrate the new release of some Bear Naked product at Target by setting up outside there HQ and sampling some granola.. or just adding a random event to our summer tour schedule, but either way we got some of the people who travel through the 8 mile climate controlled Sky walk downtown to come out and get a free photo and some tasty granola.

The recurring theme of Warrior Dash events that Bear Naked has been at is rain… rain… and more rain this week was no different but that didn’t stop us or the thousands of Warriors who came out.

Bear Naked was there giving Energy to those Warriors who finished the 3.18 mile course, we were also there giving the Warriors a chance to remember there accomplishment with a photo.

Extreme Sailing Series – Boston MA

What makes Sailing Extreme? How about a dozen Sail boats on a narrow course, sailing at 40 knots while vertical.

Extreme Sailing Series arrived in Boston for its 4th act out of 9 this season over the 4th of July weekend. Bear Naked Granola tried to get a branded boat into the race… it didn’t go to well..

The Bear Naked Granola team gave energy to sailors, spectators, and volunteers during all 5 Day’s of the Extreme Sailing Series.

Tri-For-Real

The past summer months of Tri-for-fun’s in Pleasanton have been preparation for this past weekends Tri-for-real. Athletes of all ages came out for the 700yard swim, 18mile bike, 4mile run.

We set-up the Bear Naked tent near the bike transition to get as close to the action as possible. The highlight of our day occurred when the gentleman above, completed both the swim and bike ride and stopped by our tent to scarf down a granola parfait before taking off on the 4mile run! Now that’s Living Bear Naked!!!

This past Saturday we cruised over to Lake Merced in San Francisco for the 1st annual “We’ve Got Your Back” Race/Walk benefiting The Spinal Research Foundation. Hundreds came out to race around the 4.5mile scenic lake. It was great to be apart of this race which raised funds that directly contributes to life changing research and educational programs.

The Bear Naked Challenge

Today Bear Naked Seattle put on it’s own challenge. Down one staff member, Diana stepped up to the plate and brought her A-Game to the Kirkland Triathlon. While participants were enduring three athletic endeavors, Diana pushed herself to the limits of parfait production: shaking, pouring, scooping, cutting, promoting, and all with a smile on her pretty little face.

Meanwhile about 800 people from all over the country were putting on their wetsuit for the .5 mile swim, then grabbing their bike helmet for a 12 miler around the Eastside, and finally slapping on their runners for 3 miles of pounding the pavement.
