On Saturday we went out the the Powwow Triathlon in Amesbury, MA- and all I can say is WOW! What an awesome event with amazing athletes! One woman told me Bear Naked was “the talk of the race” which was fun to hear, and all we could talk about was how FAST so many of these Tri-gals and guys could swim, ride and run!

Be sure to check out the pics below and take a look at our calendar (at the right hand side of our blog here!), and be sure to stop by the bright orange Bear Naked tent to pick up a parfait or sample snack pack at one of the upcoming events in your area! :)

Good Times and Fast Rides at the Longsjo Classic

What a fun week out here in Boston! On Wednesday we went out to the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Fitchburg, MA for the Longsjo Classic Registration evening! The riders were gearing up for this 4-day Pro/Am Bicycling Competition! The riders were excited for a parfait snack and we were thrilled to see the pros from all over the East Coast and even some from Canada!

On Sunday we were there to support the bikers and their fans with parfaits and snack packs during the grand finale races! It was an exciting day with our booth right next to the race course- only 100m from the finish line! The highlight of the day was when the Women’s Overall Gold Medal Winner and her teammate stopped by and doubled up on Bear Naked Granola parfaits- they definitely earned it!

This weekend we went out to the MS 150 Bike Tour, a 2-day, 150 mile bike ride benefiting the Multiple Sclerosis Society. We were at the Lunch Rest Stop on Day 1 in Griswold, CT serving parfaits and handing out snack packs (which one rider commented is a “perfect mid-ride pick-me up!”). We had a great day and were happy to be there to support these hard working riders who were truly impressive in their athleticism and strength of character to commit to such feat!

This morning I went over to the Cambridge location of Healthworks Fitness in Porter Square and had a fantastic time serving parfaits and snack packs to the lovely ladies who work out there! One woman commented that Bear Naked granola is the “perfect post-workout snack”! and another walked around sharing her favorite flavor with everyone who came up the stairs!

NSMC Cancer Walk

Posted on June 23rd, 2009 | by LJ & Jon | No Comments »

The NSMC Cancer Walk is an annual event the benefits Mass General/ North Shore Medical Center. The rain may have scared off a few people, but the event was still a huge success with over 1200 walkers plus their fans! We were there to support them before and after the walk with a Bear Naked granola parfait or snack pack!

While most of the people were avoiding the puddles 2 of the cutest kids ever found a big muddy puddle right behind our tent and splashed through it for at least 15 minutes! They both had the biggest smiles and were just laughing on end! What a great reminder to enjoy life and live in the moment (even the rain!)… :)

We Rock’d the Boat!

On Friday we went out to Boston Ski and Sport’s Club’s ‘Rock the Boat’ event down on the Boston Harbor pier. The damp weather didn’t keep these voyage-ready party goers away! We were set up on the deck to hand out Bear Naked Granola and yogurt parfaits to the patrons as they waited to board the harbor cruise. Everyone was dressed to impress and ready for a fun night as they grabbed a pre-cruise snack!

Bear Naked Tour Rocks the Tour (de Cure that is..)

Posted on June 15th, 2009 | by LJ & Jon | No Comments »

At the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure in Narragansett, RI this past Sunday it felt more like October than June…Late October…when riders began to show up at Pier Middle School around 5:45 AM. Those riding the longest distance (100 miles) had to show up the earliest for registration and a Bear Naked Granola Parfait. Everyone was in good spirits as they set out to raise awareness and funds for the fight against diabetes. By the time the last wave of riders went off around 9, there were more than 200 hearty cyclists plying the highways rural roads of the Southern RI coast in the cold morning mist.

Neither rain, nor cold, nor grey mist could keep us from serving a Bear Naked breakfast to riders in the 2009 Tour de Cure. when wind gusts hit 20 and threatened to blow the pop-up tent into the next county…Team Bear Naked adopted and moved under the shelter of the Pier Middle School’s main entrance… Tour on!

Loco Running 5K

People love Bear Naked Granola, especially when offered a free sample at the conclusion of a 5K race! That being said, its tough to compete with free beer…as the attached photo shows…(beer line is the line on the left). The good news is that most people did stop by for a Granola Parfait after they grabbed a cold one, and many were surprised at how good the (Heavenly Chocolate) granola complemented the Smutty Nose brew.

BSSC Dodgeball Night!

Posted on June 4th, 2009 | by LJ & Jon | No Comments »

Last night I went out to the Boston Ski and Sports Club Dodgeball Playoffs! What a blast! We were serving our famous granola and yogurt parfaits and handing out snack packs, and I spent the evening chatting with the players as they entered and exited the gym for their big games!

Amidst a riveting philosophical discussion of the difference between an ‘enemy’ and an ‘arch nemesis’, yummy granola sampling (Vanilla Almond Crunch and Heavenly Chocolate were big hits!), I had a few minutes to poke my head in to the gym to watch a game and snap some pics! Check them out below!
