This week we did a bunch of fun events around the Boston Metro area! We started off with a fun evening at MetroRock (Everett)- one of the coolest rock gyms around! The climbers enjoyed an evening of bouldering, top roping, pumping music on the new sound system, and of course yummy Bear Naked granola snacks!

We went out to Healthworks Fitness – Brookline location to support their member appreciation day! One woman came out and told us that we were the talk of the locker room!

Saturday we spent the morning at gorgeous Hopkinton State Park to support the Mass. Breast Cancer Coalition’s Against the Tide fundraiser! This event included a 5k, a 1 mile competitive swim, a recreational swim, as well as a kayaking race! Was a great morning of fun in the sun!

This week was our final week of the Bear Naked New England Summer tour. We had an amazing time this summer and I hope all of you who stopped by our tent for a snack or a grocery bag enjoyed our presence too! There were a lot of familiar faces at these last couple events, with multiple people telling us they had seen us at different events over the summer and were excited to see us again!

Friday we went out to the last Bike Friday at the City Hall Plaza in downtown Boston. This terrific green initiative is supported by the Mayor and Hub on Wheels, and it encourages commuters to ride their bikes in to work instead of driving! We were excited to make it out to the last Bike Friday of the season and hope to join in the fun again next year!

Sunday we wrapped up the tour with one final event up in Kennebunk, Maine- the Fireman’s Triathlon! It was a gorgeous day and we had a blast serving parfaits and snack packs to the participants and the enthusiastic crowd! At first the free pancakes served by the American Legion seemed a bit tough to compete with, but as tales of our free parfaits and shopping bags snaked through the crowd we soon had people running up to our table in droves! One woman even exclaimed that her “daughter is ignoring her pancakes and eating my parfait- I came back to see if I could get her one of her own!” We of course obliged and were happy to serve her, her daughter, and the rest of this great crowd!

So thats about it folks- thanks for helping us make this summer truly awesome! As we always say- keep Living Bear Naked!

Peace

Lindsay and Jim

Saturday we went out to Rhode Island to support the swimmers of the Save the Bay swim event! The swim benefits the Save the Bay organization which works to protect and preserve the Narragansett Bay. The swimmers swam from Newport to Jamestown in a 1.7 mile swim! We were there for the picnic afterward where our parfaits, snack packs, and reusable grocery bags were a big hit!

Sunday we went out to Bridgeport, CT for the Parkcity Mossman Triathlon. The sun rose over the beach as the swimmers prepared to get the race started! We were there serving Bear Naked granola and yogurt parfaits, and the grocery bags we donated as runners bags dotted the landscape! It was a rather perfect setting for a Tri, and being right near Norwalk, CT (where Bear Naked was originally founded) we chatted with a lot of folks who knew Bear Naked well and a few of whom new Brendan and Kelley personally!

This week we went up to Salem, MA for the Witches Cup on Wednesday and to Beverly, MA for the Beverly Grand Prix on Thursday! Both of these Bike races were awesome events with a great crew of participants, tons of fans to cheer them on, and lots of love for the Bear Naked granola parfaits we were handing out.

We met a guy who had just got back from a trip to Mexico and had a sketch of an Agave plant (one of the key ingredients in our Mango Agave Almond flavored granola!). A group of the bikers were participants in both events and had a trip to the Cape planned for the weekend for a multi-day bike tour- now thats living Bear Naked!
