			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<table class="ec3_schedule"><tr><td colspan="3">June 4, 2011</td></tr><tr><td class="ec3_start">8:00 am</td><td class="ec3_to">to</td><td class="ec3_end">12:00 pm</td></tr></table><p>On Saturday, June 4 from 8 AM to noon, join us as we help members of the US Forest Service with some much-needed trail maintenance on Game Creek Trail in Minturn. Locals know it as run-out from the “Minturn Mile” and this popular ski and snowboard run sees plenty of year-round traffic. Members of the US Forest Service will offer instructions, create assignments and lead volunteers through the trail restoration.</p>
<p>Come prepared to work outdoors with appropriate clothing, water and sunscreen—layers are recommended. A light breakfast will be provided, along with some Bear Naked swag and all are welcome!</p>

For three days this event takes over <a href="http://www.carillon-point.com/" target="_blank">Carillon Point</a>, nestled on the Eastside of the 520 this has some of the best views of the north end of the lake and Husky stadium. We will be there handing out fresh parfaits for 2/3 of the time, so come on down and join in on the fun!</p>

<p>Saturday 6 am &#8211; 1 pm: adult triathlon</p>

From the impassioned to the whimsical, festival films cover a ride range of subject matter from climbing expeditions in Africa, to sustainable farming in the United States, to surfing the Snake River.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.cedarriver.org" target="_blank">Friends of the Cedar River Watershed</a> is hosting the festival and will share with you their Watershed Report – a survey of the Cedar River Watershed reported and produce by area high school students. They’re also holding an amateur photo contest.</p>
<p>Tickets are $8 in advance; $10 at the door. Advance tickets and contest information are available at <a href="http://www.cederriver.org" target="_blank">cederriver.org</a>, <a href="http://www.brownpapertickets.com/">Brown Paper Tickets</a> and at the Patagonia store. For year two we are expecting the same, if not better. So grab your suit and a buddy and lets get wet! As all Swim Across America&#8217;s the proceeds are going to a great cause, this time it&#8217;s <a href="http://www.seattlecca.org/" target="_blank">Seattle&#8217;s Cancer Care Alliance</a>.</p>
<p>The fun starts at 6 am with registration, 7 am an awesome group photo, and 8 we get in the water for a two-mile swim. When you arrive back on dry land at <a href="http://www.swimacrossamerica.org/Page.aspx?pid=725" target="_blank">Luther Burbank</a> beach on Mercer Island you will be treated to a hot breakfast and some delicious Bear Naked goodies. <p>This year&#8217;s central hub will be located at the <a href="http://www.metroparkstacoma.org/page.php?id=20" target="_blank">Tacoma Nature Center</a>; there will be restoration activities occurring at the site along with activities aimed at children and families.  In addition, the new nature-themed playground called <a href="http://www.metroparkstacoma.org/page.php?id=1195">Discovery Pond </a>will be completed and open to the public.</p>
<p>Unfortunately we won&#8217;t be there sweating along with our brothers and sisters to the south. But they will be powered by delicious Bear Naked snacks. If you want to get in on this check out their website and free your schedule because it&#8217;s going to be a full day of fun!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<table class="ec3_schedule"><tr><td colspan="3">September 17, 2010</td></tr></table><p>Bringing people together to build a stronger community, <a href="http://www.uwpc.org/DaysOfCaring.htm" target="_blank">United Way of Pierce County’s annual Day of Caring</a> connects volunteers with local nonprofit organizations to complete projects that may not otherwise get done. Projects range from taking children on a field trip to adding a fresh coat of paint on the walls of a transitional home. Day of Caring also provides an opportunity to develop long-lasting relationships with colleagues and other community members.</p>
