This week in Boston we spent a fun evening at MetroRock- one of the hottest rock gyms in town!

Friday we headed into Boston for the last Bike Friday of the summer!  This event encourages commuters to ride their bikes into work, and the rides end at City Hall Plaza with a free breakfast and a bike expo!

Sunday we drove up to Kennebunk, Maine to support the participants of the Fireman Triathlon!  This great event has Olympic and sprint distances, free breakfast (Bear Naked granola, and pancakes served by the local American Legion), and a gorgeous course in this little coastal town!

IMG_2924.JPGThis week, we were not in the cape ( i know shocker!) but instead we were in Lowell for the B52s concert which is part of the Lowell summer Music Series, We also stopped by the Blazing Saddles Summer Century (held by the North Shore Bike Club), and finally on Sunday we ended up in Gloucester for the 7 Mile Road Race, where if you read our last few blog posts you would know I was challenged to participate in the 7 Mile Race… How did i do you ask? well you will have to continue reading to find out.. i know cruel right?

Lowell Music Series hosted the B52s this past friday and to my surprise for a band that has been around for over 30 years still puts on a great show. while the B52s may have been the main attraction, Bear Naked was there giving out Granola treats to the fans of the greatest party band around ( so i have been told ). Rock Lobster anyone?

Saturday we stopped by and hung out with our friends at the Blazing Saddles Summer Century (held by the North Shore Bike Club) and gave out samples to all the riders returning from their 100 mile bike ride.

Now the moment you have been waiting for the Gloucester 7 mile Road Race took place on Sunday. Bear Naked was there re-fueling each and every runner coming through the finish line with Granola Parfiats.

So how did i do you ask ? well i survived, but then again you all know that if i am writing this post. In all honesty i surprised myself and everyone i work with finishing the race in 1hr and 12 minutes ( for someone who only had 7 days to train, Never once ran a race let alone a 7 mile race, and has Asthma) i must say if you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything. for my first race ever i must say leading up to it and right before the sound of the gun fired i was nervous till about 2 minutes into the race. in the end it was an amazing race! and the support of the fans along the track  yelling “GO Bear Naked” and “I love Bear Naked Granola” made it all worth it!

Now here are the pictures from this week!

Crazy Cape Cod Weekend!

Posted on August 9th, 2010 | by LJ & Jon | No Comments »

This weekend we were at 2 awesome events!  The Pan Mass Challenge is a 2 day, 180 mile, bike ride across the state of Massachusetts (from Sturbridge to the tip of the Cape in Provincetown)!  This ride raises funds for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s Jimmy Fund (more than $270 Million since its inception)!  We served breakfast bright and early (3am-6am) to the 5000 riders before they left Sturbridge for the first leg of the ride!

After we wrapped up the PMC breakfast we drove out to Falmouth, MA for the all day Naukabout Music Festival!  This fun music fest is hosted by the Naukabout clothing company (learn more about their goals and values, and don’t forget to check out their gear!)  We heard some great tunes while passing out yummy Bear Naked granola and yogurt parfaits!

After only a few hours of sleep we were up before the crack of dawn (about 2:30 am!) to find our truck totally blocked in (I’m talking curb/ trees on one side, a car in front of us, a car behind us, and a huge penske box truck along our otherside!)  Not fun to deal with in the middle of the night!  Needless to say we had the front desk start calling the rooms of the vehicle owners.. and when we finally got one to come move her car she was not a happy camper! We met back up with the PMC riders in Bourne (at the Mass Maritime Academy) to serve them breakfast for Day 2 of the ride!  We dished up bowls of Bear Naked cereal as well as granola to fuel the riders through the second leg of the journey!  By 6am the riders were all off on their way towards the tip of the cape, and we road into the sunrise for our trip home!
