We were delighted to have a couple winners draw some of our “Winner” spoons for a free bag of granola.  Those that did were ecstatic and somewhat baffled that they got a free 12 oz. granola to take home to share with their friends and family.  Bear Naked is in the granola, cereal, cereal bars, and smile business this summer.  Watch out!

As we were sampling some granola parfaits, we got to enjoy watching a couple of young guns put down cupfulls of our flavors. Everytime, without fail, we would see a yogurt-slopped face cashing in at the register.  We could point out which child had our Heavenly Chocolate from 50 feet away. Â

What a beautiful day!  We had the opportunity to sample to the all the park-lappers and the various dog lovers abound.  We found a vast majority of these characters outside with their feet wet cooling off and chillin’ with their best friends.  Fruit and Nut attacks again.

The VC is dear to our hearts.  The employees, customers, and everything in between has the perfect vibe.  We seemed to vibe fittingly with them.  At one point, we had a family army get their sample on.  You think athletes are hungry; wait ’til you see the little tikes with voracious appetites…I think we only put a dent in those little guys tummies.  Glad that we could help the parents.

Fat Tire Triathlon

The Fat Tire Triathlon is a 1/2 mile swim in the clear waters of Horsetooth Reservoir (Eltuk Bay), followed by a 12 mile single-track bike over rolling terrain and across valley bridges through Lory State Park, finishing with a fun and challenging 4.8 mile (8k) run on dirt trails!

Watching these athletes chow on our parfaits made me realize just how many calories these guys burn off.  We had one guy munch on our granola parfaits 6 times.  Hungry triathletes + limited granola supply = no more granola.  These guys ate us dry.  We were psyched that everybody got to sample and left with not only a grin about the tri, but a nice, granola-splashed smile.

The Venus de Miles was one of our women’s only bike rides, here in Colorado.  We were honored to serve the participants and supporters of the other causes there, including the Green house Scholars, an organization providing education, mentorship, and scholarships to under-resourced students.

We were greeted with one such joyous biker, who entered our station with what seemed to be a baby-holster…carrying her loving pet…wearing sun goggles.  Check the pic; probably the funniest things we’ve seen yet :)

Ladies, ladies, ladies.  As this exclusively all girl triathlon got underway, the sun slowly came out and shed it’s bountiful rays upon us.  And if I didn’t know any better, I’d say a portion of them were mothers…way to go, Moms!  I got a lot of comments about how “yummy” and “tasty” our granola was to them and how they would imagine their kids armed with Bear Naked.  As school was just around the corner, many kids had supported their moms with the future decision to purchase some of our granola for lunch snacks.  Go kids and moms (and what the heck, dads too)!
