ConservationNEXT is about to throw down a huge Backyard Collective on Portland! Bringing their environmental restoration skills to Pittock Mansion for a mix of trail maintenance (including stone wall installation on a few switchbacks) and habitat restoration (installation of split rail fence, ivy removal).
ConservationNEXT spawned off of Conservation Alliance in August 2008; it’s goal to connect individuals in the outdoor industry with the work of environmental organizations that receive financial support through the Alliance. ConservationNEXT.com provides people with opportunities to take online action in support of conservation. The Backyard Collective moves that action to the field, helping the outdoor industry employees, Alliance grantees, and volunteers get their hands dirty in their own communities.
Unfortunately we won’t be there, but a bunch of 3.5 oz sample packs of Fruit and Nut will be, as well as the infamous coupons and bumper stickers that I’m sure you have seen all over the Pacific Northwest!
