On a perfectly typical Pac NW morning the Seattle Backyard Collective of 2010 commenced at Mount Baker Park. Armed with roughly 80 volunteers from a cornucopia of outdoor industries they joined forces to keep one of Seattle’s most amazing public spaces amazing.
Ripping out weeds and invasive plants ain’t easy and requires a lot of energy…. (insert cool super hero music) Bear Naked to the rescue! We were there early to fuel these outdoor enthusiasts with park-made parfaits and granola bars for the trail. It’s hard to eat just one, and most did not as they prepared to get down and dirty.
While we were not able to assist in the restoration project we are planning on putting in our own elbow grease come August when the Backyard Collective hits Portland. To our friends to the South: be ready for some healthy snacks while keeping the amazing amazing.
